I removed the link to the video as per admin request, the video is not to put people off ablations but to have an understanding as to when multi ablations can fail. I had one that have failed personally and see many posts where people also state they have more that one ablation. Dr Wolf (who I'd like to think is respected by this forum???) talks a lot of sense in this video and made my understanding of my disease much more clear.

Sorry if I offended anyone by raising an awareness of why ablations can fail

I never open a URL unless I know what it's about. Some carry malware. Have you had this approved by the Admins?

Sorry, I thought the link dropped in it's own preview , it's only a you tube link , info below

On this forum, any links won't open directly and, if clicked with a mouse, the full link address is shown instead, which you can then click on to open. The web link showed it was to YouTube so will be entirely secure and safe to click.

The video presentation itself is, in away, a sales pitch for an American hospital and the surgeon makes many claims about ablations and use of anticoagulants, favouring other procedures (I didn't watch it all but I guess they were "Maze" procedure, hybrid ablation and left-atrial appendage occlusion). These aren't yet widely available in the UK and, if done privately here, are for the very wealthy only.

Thank you. I could see it purported to be a YouTube video, but I'm careful and don't open stuff without knowing what it is.

That is the best advice, and I don't, either but here, it was safe as the first part of the link was "" and then, the important part, the domain name, was YouTube.

If you click on a YouTube video link you are not opening anything. You are simply watching a video held on the YT platform. It's never going to deliver anything dubious to your computer, other than sometimes poor quality content.

The things to be careful of are documents that people send you and you don't know the origin of. Basically don't click on document links in emails from unknown senders. By documents I mean icons that sit inside the email. Not URL links to a web site.

Thank you. I don't open anything unless I know what it is, whether I'm an email, or something purporting to be on YouTube. There are some awful films on YouTube.Of course I have a virus checking as well

What I was trying to do was reassure you that any YT link is perfectly safe. I've been in the software development industry for decades. You don't need to worry about video links. And if you keep your virus protection up to date you will be pretty well covered. Still wise to be wary of document links though if you don't know how to look at the detail without opening them. But video on YT or Vimeo is never going to be a problem.

Thank you for your reassurance concerning YT a bad Vimeo.. I n respect of the video linked to in this post, it now has information about it before you open it.

In my browsers, if I hover the mouse over any link it shows where it's going , no need to click on it before knowing exactly where it points to.

Yes, I watched this video some time ago, as I imagine many others on the Forum also have, and like all his ongoing live AF videos ( available on YouTube ), Dr Wolf has provided me with what I consider the most intelligible explanations of AF and it's treatment.

And it offers me hope that his mini-maze and similar procedures are becoming increasingly available through the NHS, especially for those with multiple failed catheter ablations, but not exclusively so, and not just privately for the "very wealthy".

Of course I disassociate myself from the ongoing censorship you received today from some of "the usual suspects", as well as Admin.

PS. The link you removed has been posted on the Forum many times in the past without any discernable threat to the welfare of Forum members. 🤔

Thanks for posting.

And based on some of the negative and misleading comments -- including legitimacy, availability and affordability of mini maze like procedures -- I suggest anyone interested in an alternative, often more successful and more durable solution than catheter ablation -- to search the web for the video that a few members felt needed to be taken down by reporting to Admin.

As a former moderator, maybe you should take a little closer look at the posters history before commenting on that history. He hasn't posted a video about Dr. Wolf for a year.

I think you're confusing a couple of videos about Dr. Richard Schilling that he did post more recently.

Dr. Schilling , UK based, is one of the most foremost Electrophysiologists in the world and therefore does not do mini maze like Dr. Wolf.

So where is the "spam" that you were talking about? What I see is someone who is posting interesting videos about all types of solutions for atrial fibrillation and not promoting any one particular approach.

Please do your homework before criticizing.

PS Btw the video he posted about Wolff Parkinson White syndrome has nothing to do with Dr. Randall Wolf :)
